Extra! Extra!
Sundays alwayz pass by so quickly... It's back to work again tomorrow after a MEGA long weekend off from work because of National Day. Looking forward to going back to work again coz it has been quite a boring long holiday since he's still away in China. (Will be back tomorrow night)
Having said that, I'm more or less settled down in my work already...It's been 2 mths and 2 weeks since I started on my journey into a world of educators (like myself), parents, children & heaps of marking. I entered my class with a certain perception of them (from the information given by my colleague who was the previous teacher)...BUT as the days went by, I realised that they are actually quite a lovable bunch of girls. Though at times, you just feel so tired nagging them. At the end of the day, you see them enjoy your lessons makes you feel all the effort is worth it.
These coming wks before we break for the September hols, the kids will be having their CA (for those out there who have lost touch with the education system...haha CA= continuous assessement! Basically, TEST!) I am indeed worried for them. How do I explain that? Let's say in every job, there is alwayz the job appraisal part right. Likewise for educators, we are being appraised as well. So, every test and exams count!
Having said that, I'm TOTALLY enjoying my job. It gives me a great sense of fulfilment and there's just this 'unexplainable' drive in me that really want to do this job well. Not only is this a job, it is a learning experience every single day...But many senior teachers alwayz say that young teachers come into this profession with alot of drive...and as the years go by, they lose this drive and leave....Hopefully, this passion of mine is not short-lived....
Even if I decide to leave years down the road, it would not be a case of 'lost-passion' but rather to see the other side of the working world.
