Practicum! Practicum!
I see my blog collecting dust since i last blog....LOL...coming week is my last week of my 10 weeks teaching practice already. This week, there wunt be very much to do in school coz the kids will be having their SA1. It has been a hectic past 9 weeks for me during this teaching practice. Having to prepare and write lesson plans for ALL the lessons & classes that i teach EVERY SINGLE WEEK.
Imagine having to write hmm...an average of 12 lesson plans a week. U can just imagine how I spend my weekends huh. It was tiring, but i kinda enjoyed the teaching and having fun with the girls. Throughout the 10 weeks, I had 8 observations from my cooperating teachers and 2 from my supervisor...these were really the times when i typically feel as if i was going to faint in class out of nervousness & having to make sure i remember everything that i wrote (meaning the things i plan to teach in that 1 hour) & to carry them out. Running out of time is always a NO NO for these sessions....Not to say that other lessons can la, but at least you would have more flexibility with the time. Cannot finish, leave to the next class or let the children bring home as homework.
Ultimately, I enjoyed this experience and I have learnt alot of really REAL LIFE school, compared to what we learnt in school. Of course, it's not only my pure efforts but rather the guidance that my CTs have given to me through the whole time...I must say I'm really fortunate to have them as my CTs. They really make the effort to tell me where i can improve & other tips on teaching the concepts...these are valuable lessons that i will continue to take with me as I officially embark on my career come june...Hope i dun fail anything...(dunno when results are coming out)School side has also been quite good for me...the staff there really treat us like part of them. I truly believe school culture is very important. They are part of something that can either make or break ur career...
Anyway, I had an opportunity to go on a learning journey with my P2 to Chinatown last month. It's part of National Education (NE) if you still remember from our school days. That day, the whole school went on a learning trip to various parts. It was a rare opportunity for me, coz it's like mass scale & sure to have to do such things next time one...so gd chance to learn. I shall not tell you more about my kids...let the pictures do the talking...aren't they just adorable! hee hee
Will be off to Bali end of the month to learn surfing....great break after such a hectic 10 weeks. Looking forward to it...shall be back soon to update...(to prevent my blog from collecting more dust...hahah)
